Quincy Public School teacher Teresa Quinton shares insights from her 5th grade classroom

Urban schools, charter schools, grades that loop, project-based curriculum, year-round programs, middle school vs. K-8…there is a seemingly endless variety to the structure and organization of schools in our country, and yet all of them strive to prepare children for roles as participants, leaders, and thinkers in their adult lives. We will examine several school types, considering the similarities and differences among them. The seminar discussions will be framed by our own questions, concerns, observations, and experiences.

Our spring seminar series focuses on the range of pedagogical, legislative, policy-oriented, and professional challenges facing educators today. Each of our daylong programs will engage participants in discussions, case studies, and presentations about a specific issue. Our sessions emphasize connections collaboration, and reflection.
